Our History: The PRO-TEC Story
In 2008, company founder and Master Plumber Richard “Rick” Hume started PRO-TEC, Inc. from the back of his pickup truck with just a few tools. With his background in large-scale plumbing projects for oil refineries and wastewater treatment plants, Rick quickly became one of the top plumbers in Southwest Florida. He is known for his ability to make anything happen and is even called upon many times by local suppliers and competitors for advice on difficult projects.
Rick’s younger brother Brandon helped hand dig the first home PRO-TEC was contracted to do in 2009 and joined the team permanently in 2011 as vice president and co-owner. Despite becoming an accomplished junior golfer, Brandon headed to Florida Gulf Coast University, where he earned his degree in finance.
The brothers’ combined expertise has grown PRO-TEC Plumbing & Air into a successful, growing company with a heart for the Southwest Florida community. Like all great entrepreneurs, Rick and Brandon worked day and night to expand the business, progressively adding new people, new technology, trucks, and equipment. Their mission is to set a new standard of excellence for quality work, superior service, and honest pricing in Southwest Florida.
